We here in San Antonio are blessed with a first class International Airport. It's located in the Northwest part of the city, has lots of parking options, and is relatively easy to, except during rush hour and when the ongoing construction around the city gets in the way. We experience few of the weather delays that plague other cities around the U.S. In fact, SATX was ranked fifth in the country this past year in terms of the fewest cancellations, and arrival and departure delays.
Location: San Antonio International Airport is located in Northern San Antonio, approximately eight miles or 15 minutes from the downtown area. Loop 410 and U.S. 281 are the two highways providing access to the main entry points.
Size: SAT covers 2,600 acres and is the primary airport serving the San Antonio metropolitan area.
Terminals: SAT is a two-terminal facility. Terminal Two was completed in 1953 with a satellite concourse constructed in 1968, while Terminal One was unveiled in 1984.

Runway 12R/30L is 8,502 feet long & 150 feet wide.
Runway 3/21 is 7,505 feet long & 150 feet wide.
The airport also has one general aviation runway; Runway 12L/30R is 5,519 feet long and 100 feet wide.

An average of 260 daily domestic and international departures and arrivals.

Operations and SAT Structure: The San Antonio Airport System is operated by the City of San Antonio Department of Aviation. The department currently employs 400 people to support the 24-hour operation of both San Antonio International Airport and Stinson Municipal Airport. Airport operations and improvements at SAT and Stinson are paid for by user fees, bond funds and money from the Aviation Trust Fund, which is disbursed by the Federal Aviation Administration.

These airlines collectively offer non-stop service to 43 different markets.
Parking: The airport provides daily, hourly and economy parking for more than 6,000 vehicles, including designated parking for persons with disabilities. Please keep in mind that the first thirty minutes of parking is free at all parking facilities. If you're dropping off or picking up, feel free to take advantage of this offer.
Cell Phone Waiting Lot: A new cell phone waiting lot is now available at the western end of airport property. Located at West Terminal Drive, the lot offers drivers a free place to park while waiting for their passenger. Please keep in mind that this service is intended for drivers and not passengers.
