Hey, it's Superbowl Sunday! What else is going to be "in the news" today? Here in South Texas, there'll be lots of parties all over town. I'll be heading over to Raffles, located just off Loop 410 behind the Magic Time Machine. Owner Gair Alley is cooking up briskets for Superbowl fans who can figure out just how to get there, with all the construction that's going on around the airport. Even though Tony Romo and the Cowboys didn't make it this year, there will be lots of Texans parked in front of big screen TV's come kickoff time. After all, the New England Patriots may just affirm to one and all that they are the best team in NFL history tonight.
Gotta say right here that I'm a New England transplant now living in San Antonio. It wasn't always this way for the New England Patriots. ! Back so many years ago that I really don't want to think about just how much time has passed, I was employed in Hamiltom, Massachusetts by a wealthy individual whose avocation was playing polo at the veddy upper crust Myopia Hunt Club. He was also the Master of Foxhounds. One of his contemporaries was a Boston car magnate, who also happened to be a part owner of the Pats. Every once in a while he'd come around offering free Pats tickets to anyone who wanted to go to a game. This was usually met with, "Gee thanks, but do you have any Celtics or Bruins tickets?" Dating myself here? This is back when Larry Bird and Bobby Orr were two of the biggest names in sports history. Nobody wanted to go to a Patriots game. Times change!

All that was many many years ago, and tonight you can be sure I'll be parked in front of the television cheering on Brady and Co, "My Team"! (9:45 PM on Sunday night) Whoa, what happened? As you probably know by now, the Giants WON!
