It "rained mud" in San Antonio on Tuesday evening this week. Yep, that's right! No lie! I was just about finished bartending for the evening at La Fonda Oak Hills. I stepped outside briefly to dump a load of trash and noticed that there had been some rain since I started work at 4:30. When I went back inside, my last two customers were ready to leave. I said, "Drive carefully. It looks like we had some rain." They laughed and said, "Yes, it's been raining mud."
When I left a short while later, I discovered what they meant by that confusing aside. My truck was literally covered with mud. It looked like I'd competed in a road rally, and the windows were completely covered with brown mud. A large dust storm in Mexico made it's way into the atmosphere and mixed with the showers focused over South Texas, causing rain mixed with dirt and creating a mud shower. Lots of car washes were doing a booming business Wednesday morning!
