In no way do I ever delude myself that what I write about in this daily page should ever be construed as "news". However, and it is a big "BUT", due in large part to the magic of search engine robots, mainly Google, that someone in a far flung section of the world may be reading this at the moment. It might be that perhaps they searched for a particular keyword? It does happen very often, and I know this, simply because I do get comments submitted via the form available below.

NEWS FLASH

This is, to me, the greatest thing about the World Wide Web. It connects the citizens of this planet in a way that few envisioned possible a few scant years ago. With a few clicks of the mouse, I am able to open a dialog with someone halfway around the world.

In the past week, I've had conversations with buyers of my Ebay items in Australia and the U.K. I've also chatted via I.M. with someone in the Netherlands about scuba diving in Cozumel, Mexico: all instantly, and all free.

I've also viewed images from Tibet, and read accounts of what's happening over there that were just minutes old. I know that I have to consider the sources of what I see and read, but the Internet connects me in a way I find miraculous. For this reason, I strive to ensure that what I post on these pages each day is informative and accurate, even if it is "just my point of view".
